I can hardly believe that I joined Substack six months ago! In some ways it seems like only yesterday that I joined this platform, but at the same time it feels like I’ve changed and evolved so much as a person in that time that I hardly feel like the same person anymore, and that will undoubtedly be reflected in my writing going forward. However, for now I wanted to update you on a couple of things and also invite you to take part in a Q&A and reader survey.
About me
I try to live a low-demand lifestyle that supports my needs and I aim to create content that others don’t just consume, but savour. I have a lot of interests aside from neurodivergence that I want to incorporate more into my writing from now on, so expect to see lots of different kinds of posts in the future. If you would like to know more about me you can read my burnout story here or find out more about me here.
Q&A
I’m planning on posting a Q&A sometime soon so please let me know your questions - questions can be personal, professional, or anything related to neurodivergence. I’ve received quite a few questions recently over DM so I’m hoping to make this a regular thing. Please leave your questions in the comments below or send them to me via DM.
Reader survey
As the New Year looms I find myself contemplating what I can offer you in 2025 in terms of the topics I write about as well as paid subscriptions and free resources. It is my intention to create a safe and supportive community here on Substack that offers extra help and resources catered to your needs - but in order to do that I need to know what would be most helpful to you. Let me know what you would most like to see by clicking on the link below - it should only take 2 minutes of your time.
Collaboration
If you would like to collaborate at some point in the future, feel free hit me up! I’m open to guest posts, podcasts, interviews, etc. For privacy and security reasons I only allow subscribers to contact me via DM, so if you haven’t already please subscribe to send me your collab ideas. Alternatively you can leave a comment below.
A small favour…
I also have a small favour to ask. If you're a regular reader of Neurodivergent Notes, or you’re new here but have enjoyed what you’ve read so far, I would so appreciate if you shared this newsletter with someone who you think would enjoy my writing:
Sharing this publication with others means that more people get to learn about neurodivergence and the neurodiverse world in which we live. I would so appreciate if you shared this publication with a friend, a family member, or even a colleague.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank
, and for recommending this publication - thank you, thank you, thank you! ✨Read or revisit my top posts:
How I knew I was recovering from burnout
18 months on from quitting my job as a project officer, I feel I am no longer in burnout. Or at the very least I am at the tail end of it. I can't tell you how nice it is to be somewhat ‘out on the other side’, to be able to function relatively well in day-to-day life and to not feel so drained all the time.
Living a low-demand lifestyle
A chatty/rambly voiceover to accompany this post, if you prefer podcast-style content:
Finding hope & beauty in the fallow season
There's a quote attributed to an unknown source that says 'often it takes a crisis for us to wake up.' I wish it wasn't that way, but unfortunately it was for me. I knew I wasn't well, physically or mentally, and I knew I wasn't going to get better in the environment that was making me sick. That environment was a particular job I had at the time where …
I'm loving engaging with you all and getting to know so many lovely people on this platform. If you're also autistic and/or ADHD, whether you’re a writer here on Substack or simply a reader like I was previously, I would love to hear from you! - leave a comment, share your publication with me or send me a DM to have a chat :)
Til next time -
