You're not weak or broken
A permission slip for neurodivergent people
You're not weak or broken if you need reasonable adjustments or accommodations because of your neurodivergence. You are a human with needs, and those needs deserve to be accommodated. When you are tempted to mask your needs, I want you to remember that you are just as worthy and just as deserving as anybody else. Recently I have been struggling to accommodate my needs, so I figured this would be a good reminder for both of us that it is not a weakness or a failure to admit you need help — it’s a sign of strength, self-awareness and self-compassion. Let’s be as loving and accepting towards ourselves as we are to the people who are most precious to us. That is all.
